Skin Rejuvenation

The skin is the largest organ in our body and is made up of millions of cells that protect us from the environment. Every day thousands of cells die, flake off and are replaced by new cells from beneath the skin surface. As we age, this process begins to slow down. Our skin becomes dull, and uneven with fine lines and other signs of sun-damage and aging begin to appear.

Your Consultation

Our treatments begin with a consultation during which you will meet with an aesthetician and evaluate your skin and the level of skin care improvement you hope to achieve. Together you and your aesthetician can evaluate your skin’s specific clinical needs and determine which rejuvenation treatment is best for you.

We offer skin rejuvenation treatments only available through your physician’s office. These treatments may be used to treat fine wrinkling, areas of dryness, uneven pigmentation and acne.

Light Acid Peels

These treatments sometimes referred to as “lunch time” peels, are quick, safe and effective at improving the texture of the skin and evening out the skin tone. They also help reduce acne related conditions by freeing impacted debris from the pores. After a day or so, dependent on each individual response, a mild flaking of the superficial dead skin cells may occur. For best results, these peels should be done monthly. In some cases for oily/acne skin repeated treatments weekly may be necessary. These peels require little or no recovery time. We treat the skin with Lactic, Glycolic, and Salicyclic.

These peels can provide smoother, brighter-looking skin for people who can’t spare the time to recover. Peels are often an excellent preparatory step prior to facial cosmetic surgery including facelift.

Your aesthetician will determine the best chemical treatment for your particular skin type.

Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) Peels

Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) can be used in many concentrations, but it is most commonly used for medium-depth peeling. Fine surface wrinkles, superficial blemishes pigment problems, and acne scars are commonly treated with TCA. The results of TCA peel are usually more dramatic than the Light Acid Peels. Your aesthetician will determine the right intensity for your skin.

Microdermabrasion

Another contemporary mode of rejuvenating the skin is microdermabrasion. This exfoliation process utilizes micro-crystal technology whereby tiny crystals are vacuumed through a delicate hand piece and applied directly to the skin. Precise angling and manipulation of the hand piece against the surface of the skin results in a superficial skin polishing. This technique aids in the removal of dead and flaking skin cells and the development of fresh young skin cells and collagen. The gentle abrasive process produces satisfying results when applied to the face, neck, chest, and hands.
